Please forgive me if it's answered already. I read all the post and didn't seem to find the answer. I have 08 CM Limited. The alarm works so does that mean I have the GBS already? Please help. Thanks
If you have the GBS, you can easily see it on your dash below the a/c controls between the right seat warmer control and the auxiliary input for the stereo. It has the words "Toyota Security" labeled on it.
If you have a speaker looking thing next the AUX plug in under the radio on the center console, then you do. It is between the heated seat controls if you have those. If you have a blank plug there, then you don't.

The second way, is to roll down the window, get out of the truck, lock the truck with the remote, and wait 30 seconds for the alarm to arm. Once it has armed, then take 2 hammers and hit them together just on the inside of the truck a time or two, and see if it sets off the alarm. The sound produced by the hammers is enough to set off the alarm via the GBS.

Great read on the GBS and the debate of whether the alarm was "built-in" or not over the last couple years. Very nice to know how easy the GBS is to install, now to get the alarm activated to go along with it.

Picked up my used 2008 yesterday. I checked my specs and I do have the keyless entry and immobilazation. Since the place that I bought my truck didn't have the Keyless entry. I went to my local dealer and bought one. The keyless remote at the parts dept cost $120. I needed to go to service to have it programmed. The service guy told me it would cost $50 to program. I mentioned that was kind of high to have it programmed he called one of the techs and he did it for nothing. After the tech programmed the keyless remote I asked him if he could enable the alarm as well. The tech played around with the menu's in the TechStream computer and said he enabled the alarm and glass brake sensor and some other thing.
I was looking at the pdf on http://www.trdsparks.com/install/08586-0C890inst.pdf and I was not sure what they need the scan tool for on pages 13 to 17. What is the DOP security in Figure 7-12? The tech only used the techstream computer and nothing else. Does something else need to be done?
When I got home I locked myself in the car with the keyless remote and 30 seconds later I opened the door and the horn started beeping. Is it safe to assume this alarm is up and running? If this is correct I will order the GBS when I have some extra cash.
The first pic I am not sure what that LED or push button is used for. The second one is the one that blinks when the truck is locked.
That is a pretty good sign the alarm is working if the horn starts honking when the door is opened. Nothing happens when others do that where the alarm isn't activated.

Just to be clear , your truck came with remote keyless entry but no remote was furnished at delivery (opposed to no RKE in which case remote and receiver have to be installed ), so you had to purchase a remote and have it programed ?and what engine size is your tundra ? how did you come to the conclusion your truck has no immobilizer ?
Pages 13-17 are an alternate programing procedure .
