They are rediculous to begin with but lately every kid on here is bragging about how they race other vehicles on the street.
First of all, thats illegal. Secondly, its very dangerous to do that on public streets. They are not only endangering themselves but the well being of the other drivers and pedestrians in the area.
Is there any way we can put an end to these posts? I dont see how they serve any purpose except for the people posting to compensate for certain things.
I certainly dont mind posts where they take their truck to a track and post the results. Thats a controlled environment thats set up for this type of thing. Street racing is not controlled, cars pulling out, kids out playing, etc...
I enjoy this forum as it helped me make up my mind to buy a Tundra. I continue to browse the forums for ideas for my truck but these posts are so rediculous and redundant that I am starting to look elsewhere for my source of information.
I agree 100%. I think Toyota Corporate would take a dim view of this and it could lead to a loss of links and advertising. I don't care if people do 1000mph on the track or private property, but the public highways are not their playground.
This has been beat to death repeatedly. Every single kill thread gets 5-10 times the exposure because they all turn into a debate on safe driving habits.
i agree 100% also, if its at a track, then fine, because that is 100 times safer than on an open public street. every other post on here is about an illegal street race, and some of these guys really don't understand why it is so dangerous and they just don't care.
Wow, that is quite a statement for 12 posts. I suggest some Summer's Eve to get that sand out of your vagina.
I dont see how that matters. I dont post a lot, normally just browse the forums. Heck, look at the join dates, I gotcha by 7 months. Again, not really relevent...
Also, your reply is exactly what I would have expected from one of you guys. Absolutely classless!
If the drag racing posts are going to be allowed then why doesnt TS make a seperate forum for it?
I have no problem with guys posting about Drag Racing, why? Because im 18 and I DO IT TO! It's just like saying driving 10 MPH over the Speed Limit is STUPID and can hurt other people, can it not? im sure you dont drive the speed limit everywhere you go in a 5.7 liter truck thats fast as FUC*. As a matter of fact i think im just gunna have to go do some more drag racing right now!

While you have a few good points on safety, you are also opening up a can of worms. I take it you do not own a 2007 Tundra? Thought not. It is an exhilarating truck with kick a$$ performance. Everyone who owns one is simply posting what the truck is capable of and they are proud of their vehicle. Yes, it should be done at the local dragstrip only. I personally have owned many cars/trucks and raced them and I am certainly not a kid.
I have asked repeatedly of the moderators to seperate and categorize this forum into posts which make sense instead of a running ledger of posts that are important and some not so important. Either way, the posts get lost in the archives and you must search for them. The moderators simply reply, "thank you for the suggestion, we will look into it". If you have a gripe about what others post, then don't read it.

Some folks take their Tundra to the track, nothing at all wrong with that...
Of course most of them are just running down the track to get an et slip and aren't drag racing either..
Point well taken. I should have had "Street Racing" in the title of the thread, not"Drag Racing".
As I mentioned earlier, I have no problems with guys going to a track and posting results. I actually find that interesting.
My beef is with the people who endanger others by racing their trucks on public streets and bragging about it. Its childish and immature and I dont feel there is a place for it here on TS

I dont know why you would make that assumption. I bought a 2007 Tundra 2 weeks ago. Great truck, lots of power. There are some things I like and some things I dont like but all in all I am pleased with the truck.

*the fact that I got 18k for my 2000 Tundra last month is one reason I bought it. That kind of resale is amazing!
one reason that i would rather go to the track to race and not on the street, is actually getting a time slip so you can prove your statements. not to mention its safer, but someone other than you can confirm that you raced/beat someone.
