TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Took my Tundra cross country...(pics)", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Hey guys, just got back from a 5700 mile trek across this beautiful country. My mother moved to GA. and I hauled a bed full of her stuff plus a loaded tandem axle trailer from SoCal to Atlanta. It was almost as if nothing was behind me! Then my wife & I drove back & saw some sites. The truck was great, it was like cruisin' along in my living room with the world's largest flat screen! Weather was awesome, not a drop of rain from CA to GA and back! Never turned on the A/C. I got approx. 16.2 mpg there with the trailer(in Tow/Haul mode) & about 19-20 on the way back. Not bad at all, I was expecting worse. Anyway, here are some pics from our journey. Hope you enjoy!

Those Tundras were a rare sight when I was in Tennessee/Georgia this Summer. I flew down though, no driving. It was still beautiful and I will absolutely visit again (even though my friend won't be going to school down there anymore). and freekyFX4, I'm sure they treated him right. I know they did when I was down there.
And that fireworks place looks pretty insane.

Loaded up with almost all Toyota had to offer, plus a few things they didn't offer...
ever seen the book where they took the couch all over the world and photographed it? kinda' the same idea. just wanted to record some of the places my truck has been. And yeah, the people in TN. & GA. couldn't have been more friendly, seriously.

My Tundra has been to those places too, I didn't take as many pics as you did. Is that fireworks place near the TN/GA - GA/TN line? I saw it while I stopped to look for the Lodge Factory outlet.

yeah it is. I saw it first at night. It was lit up like a quasar in the night!

It's actually the TN/AL state line. Just before you get to Chattanooga on I-24 going East, you pass into Alabama for about 5 miles then back into Tennessee. There is even one fireworks stand that is between the eastbound and westbound lanes of I- 24.

I'm pretty sure you pass into GA(not AL) for a few minutes then back into TN then back into GA. I don't think I-24 runs through AL.

I stand corrected...it goes into Georgia near Wildwood. I have been through there more than 100 times and always thought it was Alabama. Thanks for the info!
