I hated the stock "brick" shift knob and I'm not into the aftermarket skull, chrome, custom look. So I ordered the Japan shift knob from Sparks:
Sparks Toyota - Toyota Racing Development Parts Accessories Page
First issue was that it has an "H" pattern for a manual **** on the top, but I don't care. Next was that it was designed for a a 10MM 1.25 thread and the Tundra shifter is an 8MM x 1.25.
I found a plastic insert for an aftermarket shifter that was close on the inside to 8MM and fit snugly into the new knob. I inserted a 8MM x1.25 Helicoil in the insert and epoxied the insert with the Helicoil at the top into the knob.
I used some blue loctite on the threads and installed. I used an O-ring to support the factory chrome collar off the stock shifter. I love it now, TRD emblem, leather and fits perfect in my hand while resting your elbow on the console. Now I need to finish the ram air duct project!
Yea, I know my truck is dirty.......
