This is a discussion thread titled "Need Blinglight install help", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
No luck with a search. Installed Blinglights according to the very vague instructions. Lights or halos don't work. There are 3 wires in the harness that are not shown in the schematic. 2 are black and obviously ground, the other is purple. All have ring terminals. Any help is appreciated. Btw, it STILL required a lot of splicing to reach the firewall.
Check your connections on the splices I had this problem with mine one halo wouldn't work.I forgot which wire it was but through trial/error.If yours has two thick wires and one skinny wire like mine did the skinny wire is for the halos make sure you have a good connection all the way through also make sure its connected good at the switch and relay.
BigAl1,
Are you satisfied with the Blinglights? Are the Halos visible and bright and do the lights put out plenty of light? I ask because I have had aftermarket Halos in the past and were a waste of money.

I am satisfied for the price I paid the fog light do the job of a fog light as for the halos they are visible at night but I don't use them.I wanted foglights and didn't want to pay dealer prices that's what I got if they come with halos good if not so be it.For 50 bucks tmd I can't complain except for if you are going to make something for a specific vehicle at least make the wiring harness long enough so no splicing is necessary. So yes satisfied.
my halo rings only worked for a week and went out, there is a small plastic box (relay)with wires coming from it, that was my problem, since i'm 57yo the rings had no part in my life, eventhough they sent me a spare. just bypass it. you should have three wires going to the switch and one to the battery. check out my install under blinglights.
i changed the switch also, and make sure you check the ground wire mounting surface.

Thanks, I'll be trouble shooting the lights when I get off duty in the morning. I have a feeling the problem may be in the splices because I am getting 12 volts to the relay and the fuse is good, but I get nothing to the switch which is where I added 4 feet of wire. I plan on re-splicing and that should resolve it.
I did received one brief email from someone at Blinglights tech telling me the obvious and I have not heard back from them. They are not trying very hard to get a recommendation from me.
i complained to them when i purchased mines, that it was way to short, too much splicing, i was told that they now have the correct harness, but they must have lied.

Finally got my Blinglights and halos working. I am very satisfied with the look and performance so far. A few things I learned during my Bling-venture:
1-Blinglights does not endorse nor have any control over what vendors of their products claim, advertise or charge on e-Bay.
2-A technician at Blinglights named Charles Smith was very knowlegeable and a great help in troubleshooting my problem.
3-The e-Bay/Blinglight vendor, who answered emails at his leisure, emailed this bit of wisdom when I asked for help with installation, "That's odd, they should work...Take it to a radio install shop". I requested but he never provided a phone number for tech support questions.
4-I had to splice wires on the harness to reach the firewall.
Saving a few bucks by purchasing on e-Bay was not worth the aggravation and I suggest asking a lot of questions before making your purchase, which I did not do. I wrongly assumed I was dealing directly with Blinglights. These are the names of the various companies I dealt with through e-Bay: Marketfly, Blinglights.biz and Blinglightshid.
If any members need help installing Blinglights, contact me, as I have unwillingly become something of an expert.
Thanks to all TS members who posted installs and offered assistance. It is greatly appreciated.
I had 3 wires left over they didn't address. 2 black and 1 purple, all with ring terminals. The blacks were obviously ground but they forgot to mention that the purple wasn't needed. It was used to demo the lights in the box they came in by pressing a button!
The other purple wire which the instructions mistakenly labeled "Black" had to be spliced to a switched circuit, (DRL's).
It sounds as if you purchased the multi-color halo model. Most BlingLights customers on this forum have the single-color halo model. Unfortunately, the wire harness length is still an issue with the fog lamp kit. I understand your frustration with having to splice extra wireing in order to complete the installation. It has been long-standing issue for which the company is still seeking a solution. The reseller should have made you aware of the issue before you completed the transaction.
Nevertheless, the kit is still a great deal for those who aren't willing to pay the ridiculous price for the OEM fog lamp kit. Right now, you can purchase the kit for the holiday special price of $59.99 (with free shipping) through the blinglights ad link on the main forum page - http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/

I agree the lights are a great deal for the price. I am very satisfied with their performance.
That being said, I would also advise strongly against buying a kit unless-
A- you are very handy with auto electrical systems
B- you are willing to pay for installation.
The main reason being the incredible lack of detail and accuracy in the instructions I received with the kit.
In any case the splicing of extra wire really detracts from the attractive pricing. Otherwise the lights perform as advertised....so far.
Well I don't think I would pay someone for the install it only took about 45 minutes of my time, but I do have an electrical background. To me the instructions were a bit vague but hell lots of after market stuff is.
