This is a discussion thread titled "Removing Coin Holder", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Does anyone know of an aftermarket part that will fit this area? Looking for a, sort of oem part that will snap in.... Maybe a phone holster. summthin???
Hi. I was also thinking that mounting a GPS where the coin holder is would be an excellent spot. If you have doen this, can you please share how you did it.

Grunge, what did you use to cover the hole (the black circular thing)?
I yanked my coin holder out today, and was trying to figure out how to mount my ipod there. I didn't find anything around the garage that would fit, so I stuck the useless coinholder back in there while I search for a solution.
Today I wandered the aisles of my local Lowes. I found the perfect hole filler...
In the section where you find doors, door knobs, deadbolts, striker plates, etc, there are hole covers. They come in grey primer and brass. Basically two flat circles, one with a threaded tube welded to it, the other with a hole. They're sold to cover up the hole left behind if you remove a deadbolt from your door (who does that?)
Anyway, the gray primer is glossy, and not too offensive-looking on the dash. Now I've got my ipod mounted there (which completely covers the hole and cover plate) Ipod is now at a good viewing angle, and within arms reach.

Let's see some pics! Especially how you mounted the grey hole cover thingy....eh, that's a technical term

I agree...now if I could figure out how to get rid of that pesky 4x4 knob.
Just kiddin', but I do need to come up with some sort of mount for my Ipod, laying on the sticky pad on the center consol just ain't cutting it.
