Question Red Dash Lights always on with DRLs?

I have the DRL on my truck and I noticed that my Dash Lights are always on with headlights on or off. I can adjust brightness in both modes. Is this normal thanks? I have a SR5 CM with the Red Dash lights.

Yes it's normal. Personally I have to put the dash lights on full bright during the day to see the gauges in the small tunnels on the right side of the steering wheel, and even then they are not bright enough. Beautiful dash at night, but the small, deep tunnels don't let in enough ambient light during the day imo.

I've had people comment that the Tundra looks like a cockpit at night. It is a nice dash at night for sure.

I don't have DRL, but as long as my key is turned on, so are my dash lights (even with headlights etc. off). It's the clock/computer lights that I can't see very well. In fact, because I don't have DRL, I keep my lights on all the time. Most of the time it is impossible to see the clock/computer readout.
