is there a certain type of grease that Toyota recommends? (the petroleum product, not the movie-musical).

How many zerk fittings in total are there? I just finished greasing mine (and rotating the tires), and I only found 5. Is that correct for a 4x4?

That's the thread I followed. And I swear the pdf in that thread had some zerks listed that simply did not exist.

I just finished greasing my drive shaft fittings. On my 4X4 double cab I could find only five. I do not know where people are getting the idea there are 8 total. There are two different style rear drive shafts, the type 2 and type 3. My truck has a type 3, a RCSB 4X4 would have a type 2 I believe. Either way they each have 3 grease fittings, and the front has two for a total of 5.

Getting to them was pretty easy with a flexible hose grease gun. I just used the moly grease on everything to simplify the process. I did manage to over pump one of the fittings and had grease oozing out of the seams. Oh well.
