slapping wheels and tires and a lowering kit sure sounds nice.
Try mounting balancing 26" low profile tires. The lowering kit was a 4 hour install. We plan on adding a big break kit/TRD sway, and supercharger. And mayby we will do some minor paint work like you did (handles bumpers mirrors)thats what I mean by build. Its not as easy as just slapping it on.Also it takes cash.So its a bit more involved then just slapping together.Donty worry people will still like your black truck.
Oh yeah never said I was hardcore ballin,if i was,I wouldnt be driven a Tundra.
Well, good luck with that Seems you might break even...depreciation is not on your side.

For some of us, this truck is life....well, as far as vehicles go. I got my truck to work on the farm....drive fast through the pastures and tow big offroad....I didn't buy it to be a pretty boy. I bought mine outright, and I make good money, but this is the only truck I have....the only vehicle I have for that matter. Considering the amount lost in depreciation by selling it before getting my money's worth...I wouldn't do it. Congrats to you since you can afford the loss...or at least, you don't mind losing the money.

I wasn't trying to put you on the defensive. I was merely trying to ascertain your definition of a build worth remarketing to the public since you just said you were done after your current mods and ready for a new "build".
I understand what's involved in suspension modification. I just go the other way (as in up). Lift kits, coilovers, Deaver packs, tubular A-arms...all been done in our garage with no lift in all kinds of weather. You don't need to explain the labor required - you already have my empathy.
I'm still trying to figure out what "my black truck" has to do with anything? I never said it was anything special, and haven't done very much to yet anyways. It's not exactly the model for a customized truck by any means. It's just one that has been modified from stock to suit MY tastes.
I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with the whole "ballin" comment only because you seem very flippant about such a large investment.

I never meant that my truck is my life...what I meant was that for some of us, it's not the disposable asset that it is in your case. I rely on my truck to get me to where I need to be, so that I can earn a living. I think that you'll find that 99.99% of the guys on this board share my sentiments...some of us put our trucks through the paces more than others, but we all rely on them to take care of us.
I threw out a nice, yet skeptical tone and warned you about your impending loss with regards to depreciation of a truck that you dumped money into. Next time you eat a steak or...anything for that matter...I want you to shove it up your azz along with your condescending 'farmer John' remark. The world wasn't built on the backs of guys who sell wheels to rich idiots with Lambos. I'm no longer involved in our family's farm operation, but you don't dissrespect those who bust their butts to keep you fat and happy.
You're not 'building' a truck. You're slapping some massively useless wheels, shrouded in rubber bands, on a slammed truck. Oh, you may paint a door handle or tint the windows, but big deal. That's nothing special, anyone can go out and do any those things to a Tundra, as evidenced by good folks on this board. There is nothing unique that you're doing to that truck; nothing that really makes it custom.
Once again, good luck with the speed bumps.

Hey listen everybody,I apologize if I offended anybody.Im here to share and learn info on these trucks.I got cought up in the judgement of my truck and I should have been better then that.I apologize.Anyway, back to the good stuff. Thanks for all the poss. comments.I am eyeing down the big break kit sometime after X mas
Love the wheel size. It just doesn't look right that high. Some airbags would do the trick nicely. I'm sure there will be some nice off the shelf kits out soon for it to set it down proper.
Also, kind of weird with the nerf bars still on it.
