TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Painted Grille Mod complete!", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Yes, I did it w/ advice from another member here who did his, Semcoll. Filled w/dynaglas after using a dremel and sand roll to remove all the paint and primer. Finished it with filler and epoxy primer. Be careful with the slots for the inner grille and keep them open. You can see blue tape behind the holes I used to keep them open.
Why the hell didn't Toyota make the grille like this from the get-go????? That totally changes the look of the truck. I love the way it gets rid of that last little bit of ugliness. Oh and one less orfice for water to run out of after a detail job.

awesome work. where did you buy the paint and how much was it?
I took it to a shop I worked at long ago and had them spray it for me, cost me a $40.00 bottle of rum. You should get it painted for under $100.00 at any good body shop.
