TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Air bags", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
With my Firestones they came with the connections to either T them or hook them seperate. You should keep 3 to5 lbs of air in bags to stop cracking, the light air pressure you won't feel on the road.

Ah... my kit did not come with a T. Was it barbed like in irrigation type use? Anybody have a T they can take a quick snapshot of and post up here? Thanks!

They recommend 5 PSI in at all times. Since you remove the bump stops (or as Firestone calls them Jounce Jumpers) the airbag functions as a bump stop and it needs that 5 PSI to do so correctly.
I also seem to recall someone put the TRD sway bar in as well as the air bags but I can't find the thread that was posted in.

Firestone Ride Rite 2445 Air Bags
I just installed my Firestone Ride Rites this weekend. One question. Just wondering how ofter you guys check the pressure in them. Do they tend on loosing a little pressure in time. Really like them. I pull a 31 foot 5th wheel and they sure make a difference.
When going to put some Firestone RideRites on my Tundra D-Cab LB and the 5th wheel hitch is mounted to the holes that the air lines are supposed to run through. Anyone else run into this and how do you mount them?
The air lines don't go through the holes where the hitch mounting bracket goes. (big hole) Although close to it.
I've got the Air Rides and so far they have worked well. Even after sub zero nights they still hold air. The only thing I dont like is that if you have any air what so ever in em and you hit a big dip in the road its like your truck is bottoming out.It literally launches chit thats in my bed into the air. My roads suck so I have to veer to avoid what we call frost heaves to avoid the bang clunk and seeing the chit in my bed mid air in my rear view mirror. They kinda bypass your existing suspension. I try to keep right at 5psi (give or take a lb) in em, with much more its a crazy bumpy ride on my chitty roads.
I know what you mean. Found that out when I first installed the Firestones. At 5 psi and a few dips, it's like riding in a big basketball dribbling. At that time, I was using Bilstein HD shocks, so I switched back to Rancho 9000XL's and up the setting to 7. No more dribbling.
Yes but they do do their job quite well. Here I have my 27ft TT hooked up plus a 600lb 4 wheeler in the bed and 25 gallons of gas in the bed. You do the math but I am guessing near 1500 lbs on the rear axle and the combination of the WD hitch and my air bags I am completely level.
