TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "2007 Tundra Dyno done today", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Well everyone, just as I suspected Toyota was close to the mark with their 381hp claims. I took my Truck to a Dyno Shop this morning in Richmond to have it tested. The guy did 6 pulls, this thing rocked out a 398.2 hp and 416.1 lb.ft. of torque to the rear wheels!!!
The highest hp that was recorded was 406............
By his calculations the engine is putting out close to 422hp at the crank using a 26% drive train loss factor!!!
Ive got a chart for my 500rwhp run...just ignore the "02 pulleyed lightning" in the corner...that was the truck just before mine and they forgot to reset that on the screen....

Most Dyno pulls have been just under 300-rwhp up to 315-rwhp and edmunds with the highest stock reading of 323-rwhp.
Id agree, subtract 1 from all your first numbers and youd be closer. The 422 at the end is insane though. If your using a 26% loss factor though, thats also insane.

This was the first Dyno I've ever paid for, but that was what the dude told me. When the chart is posted tomorrow many of you keen racers out there can enlighten men the results. I had a guy video the tests for posterity.
So youre actually gonna stand by the 398 REAR whp, 416 REAR whp statement. Are you sh*tting me?
I will guarantee you, unless this is some kind of joke, and the "Toyota" your referencing is a modded twin turbo supra or something, those are not accurate, nor even remotely realistic.
