Default Toolbox Mounts

I recently bought a Black 07 toyota tundra double cab and decided to make an amazing truck better i got a kobalt toolbox for it from lowes. With this i bought a kit to attach the box without drilling which failed to do any good. My question is does ANYONE know how to attach the toolbox without drilling or am i gonna just have to drill??

This has been posted a few times, but do NOT pay for any special mounting hardware. Go get some 6" quarter-twenty carriage bolts and bend them into a J-shape on your vise.

These fit nicely through the holes in the bottom of your box and slip right under the rails on your truck. Top them off with some lock washers and nuts and you're all done for under $2.

Never put one on a Tundra but just pickedmine up today so Ill be doing that tomorrow On my 2003 F-150 they sell a hook with washers and nuts to secure it with out drilling or self tapping to the truck. I got mine at a Leer Truck parts dealer. The hook goes under the bed rail and the straight part goes up through the shallow side compartments in the tool box and thats about it just tighten them down. ( 2 per side )

It IS that simple. I promise. Of course having a vise is essential.

Make the small end of the J where the head is and slip the threaded end up through the bottom of your box. Hook the bottom of the J under the rail, tighten up the nuts and that box is going nowhere.

Go to a parts store or lowes and puchase two "J" hooks with two washers and two lock nuts. You drill one hole on the box on each side, the J catches the inside flare in the bed and the washers and nuts on the inside of the box. 10-15 min install with a 5 dollar cost. Stainless so they don't ever rust.

One per side in the small trays in the box. It really is that simple. Just watch under the edge so you don't over tighten and roll the flare, just snug.
