Default Paint and Metal

Just FYI, I took my Tundra to the body shop today to fix a dent in the rear passenger quarter panel. I asked the questions: Is this a thinner cheaper paint and is the sheet metal cheaper? He answered no and no. Just FYI.

I thought I read in the brochure they were bragging about how they are able to use less paint and save the environment. They charge the metal body causing the paint to stick allowing them to get an even coat with less paint. But a thinner layer of paint means scratches more easily cause problems.

as much as I enjoy my new toy, I would say the thin paint and sheet metal are my biggest disappointments. followed closely by the interior plastic. I have never been so protective of a vehicle for fear of damaging it. They say you can't really start to enjoy a truck until it gets a few character dings, when that happens you will see a grown man cry. I really don't think it will be tears of joy
