TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tires after toytec lift?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Just wondering what tire sizes you guys are running for those that have the 3" toytec lift or a similar lift. I am running the stock TRD 18" alloys but was gonna put on 285/60R18's. Lemme know what you guys think.
Put on 305/65/18 BFG A/T KO's.... I've got them with the 2.4" readyLIFT... very slight skid plate mod if you have one...
305/65/18 are about an inch taller in diameter (1/2" in added truck height), then the stockers. That's just not worth it. Go bigger, you can run 285/75/18s, which are almost 35" tall.
thanks guys I was looking at the Nitto terra grapplers, I think I'll do the 285's I wanna get as much height as possible with the running boards that hang down a ridiculous like 6 inches. Thanks for all your help I'll be sure to post pics.

Me too and I can't be happier with the rugged look of the BFG's. I have the TRD Skidplate so I just cut the flimsy metal one underneath out where it rubbed with some tin snips.

You will not fit 35's with a three inch lift. My 33.7 BFG's just kiss the mud flap very lightly with the 2.5" lift. I'm not sure where you would put the extra 3/4" since there is metal frame just behind the mudflap.

32.3" Stock BFG Rugged Trails 275/65/18
33.7" BFG TA/KO 305/65/18 ---> 1.4" taller than stock (.7" added to height of truck)
34.8" Toyo ATs 285/75/18 ---> 2.5" taller than stock (1.25" added to height of truck)
To expand even more... you can't quote the unloaded tire diameter for comparison purposes. You need to know what the loaded diameter is. My stock Rugged Trails only stood 31 inches. My new BFG 305's stand right at 33", not 33.7. Go measure how tall your Toyo's are. You may be suprised, especially since Toyo's website shows a static loaded radius of only 15.6 inches.
