If you are using an ethanol blend. That alone will reduce you mileage by 2-mpg. Now it's winter. The two are a bad combination for good mileage. I do get better gas mileage at 65. But I can't stay there long. I just can't. I tell you I can't.
Yeah, I try to dodge the gas stations with Ethanol...but they somehow sneak it past me everytime!!! I feel ya on the under 65 problem...last night I was driving home and some kid in a Mustang GT wanted to go at it and I smoked his ***!!!
10mpg with mostly city driving. If i take it on the highway (70-80mph) i get around 13-13.5 If i drive around 65 i can get around 16. The highway driving is on cruise control as well.
I have 3k miles on the truck and havent done my first oil change yet but plan on doing it over the weekend.

I have an AFE drop in filter, TRD exhaust, and a tonneau cover and I am getting 14.4 MPG mostly city right now. Like other posters my MPG during the summer was 17-19 MPG. I have concluded it is the Ethanol in the gas that is making the differnce. I believe Ethanol has done nothing for the US except INCREASE the demand for oil.
I'm getting 15.5 when I can stay under 70. When I can't, it drops to about 12.5. But, I also put tires and rims on and I can't keep my foot out of the engine bay.
Cruise at <65 MPH, 16 MPG.
Basically no mods. If there really were mods (CAI, TB Spacer, Cat-Back, new chip, etc) that gave you 2MPG improvement, and cost a few hundred bucks extra, don't you think the Toyota engineers would put it in? Come on, that would be like 15% better gas mileage! They could advertise the sh!t out of that!
I'm sorry, but I'm a sceptic, and I think all of these testimonials are WISHFUL THINKING!
So there.

Tundra786, Sounds like my truck, I wish I could get at least 300 miles out of a tank, I fill up 2-3 times per week. And, I've got close to 5k. My friends f250 4x4 6" lift and 35's get 17-20 consistantly. I've got a 6" lift and 35's in my garage but at what I pay for gas that where they will stay for now!!!!

Ok guys...I know that I did not buy my Tundra for having the best MPG ratings, but I have a 4x4 Crewmax TRD 5.7L. It is brand new with less than 400 miles on it. I am avg 11.5 mpg and want to know if the MPG's get better as I continue to break it in? Also...any mods to increase the MPG's?
Did you check the air pressure in your tires? I'm getting about 11 mpg all city in mine, 4x4 Crewmax TRD 5.7, but I'm running low air pressure for... other reasons...
And I really think that with this truck, its not about not flooring it, its about lightly throttling it. I notice that if I even just push the pedal down 1/8 of it's total travel, I'm leaving everyone else in the rear view... that's bad for fuel economy. (but I still keep doing it)
