Not sure, but my guess is where the rear of the cab is attached to the frame versus the DC and RC. If anyone here wants to test out their bed bounce drive on I5 South where I405 intersects. Make sure you are in the right hand lane that all the truckers use and you will experience Bed Bounce. My bed flexes enough that when you look in the rear view mirror you can see it. First time I saw it I thought I was witnessing a vibration from my rear view mirror, but when I turned my head to the rear and saw it still I was like Wow, those folks on TS were dead serious that this is real. Never would have believed it until I saw it. I always thought that the folks in here were experiencing rear wheel hop from the stiff suspension just like my Ram 2500 did. Boy was I wrong.
You dont have to be on a freeway to see it move. You can see mine "wiggle" at 25 or 30 when you hit a sharp bump. Only problem or issue I have had with mine. It is embarassing
its amazing the ride quality of this truck when it has a few hundred pounds in the back.. I was hauling a 30 gallon Air compressor. Probably weighs 200lbs. WOW! There's one particular bump on my way home that simply unavoidable as it's all the way across my lane and it's on a blind curve so I can't go into the other lane.. Everytime I see it I completely dread what comes next. Booinng!.
This time with the Air compressor in the back.. It goes over it and it's just a little Thump and the rear recovers immediately and doesn't sustain the bump at all. This is how it should ride no matter whats back there.
I wonder if someone were brave enough to have some cross braces welded to the frame.. Basically bridge one side to the other. I wonder if that would stop the frame from flexing..

hi guys, i'm a toyota diehard and want the new tundra. only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is the bed bounce-i live in so-cal. check out the willybar at willybar.com. seems pretty cool-whaddaya think?
Why not just go out and buy a couple of steel plates that weigh in around 200# or so and then fab up some hooks on it and then just put them in the back of your truck bed? That's a simple fix for sure. Its a great idea but I doubt the cost to build what they are offering is much and then obviously you can install it yourself. I say this is a great idea but its a rip off at the same time.
MODS AstroStart auto start, TrailFX Nerf bars, Tundra AW floor mats, Access Limited Edition soft tonneau cover, vent shades, magnaflow exhaust, Color match headlights, Volant CAI, fully debadged, bolt on Billet Grill, LED interior lights, door sill protectors,Truxxx Leveling Kit, 20% tint front windows 5% tint back three windows, TRD rear sway bar, sport shifter, sport brake/gas pedals, color match door handles
After I get off my @$$ mods Power locking tailgate, auto open tailgate, Line-x Bed Liner, rear window button moved on the dash, RAV interior with heated seats
I could use one of those...I live with it because its a truck, but on the concrete roads it too get a head ache and am a bit embarrassed as well...the topper probably helps a bit too

I need a new word of the month people!

I suppose one could do that if you knew where to go for it.. I personally wouldn't have a clue who to call for steel plates nor what they would cost to have them cut out and powdercoated so nicely as the Willybar.
It all comes down to the costs though.. if the WB is going to cost an arm and a leg then that'd be a shame and I'd have to give some thought to making my own but if it's barely more or equal to the cost of those raw materials and the headache of tracking those things down myself then sign me up for a WB!.
Just go get some milk crates, shove some bricks in em and bungie cord/tie strap em to the back hooks like they do the willybar, that'll be nice and cheap =)
Just don't let anyone look in your truck bed so they don't see the sexy solution to the bouncing problem.
we should email toyota the link....impressive...do i hear group buy? I wonder how much weight it adds....panels look pretty heavy by the way the guy in the video was moving them....
6-60# bags of concrete from HD or Lowes will cost about $25 and do the same thing.
But the willybar sho look purty
Oh, and I'm merging the threads...
