I only have an issue with it when I drive through Seattle. I think the canopy does help some, but not much. The best ride I had was when I had about 400 lbs. of wood loaded over the rear axle. It will be interesting to see how different it rides now that I have the Airlifts installed. A couple of bags of sand from Home Depot would be a lot cheaper than the Willy Bar I'm sure.

Pretty cool.... looks like I'll be heading to my local Lowe's / Home Depot to locate a steel C-frame beam... (hmmm, maybe my buddy who does commercial building framing can get one for me.) I like the C-frame idea so that way it can also be used to hold my groceries. "Shotgun on the C-Frame Patent!"

Wait...So putting weight in the bed of a truck will make it ride better???

It's almost like they designed the suspension to ride better loaded...

I don't notice much of the bouncing after I installed the Snugtop camper/shell.

Here is my idea...

1. build a box using the plywood... (same size as WillyBar)
2. pour the box with concrete mix
3. let the concrete get cured.
4. cover the top of the box with another plywood.
5. paint the box or carpet the box
6. now you have a nice seating bench and help with the bouncing too.

.... I might try that one day!

I made a few calls and got Willys phone number. its 8053683222. I didnt call him but if anyone wants to, have at it. And yes, the price is around $600-650 I was told too. I liked that one persons idea of making it yourself. Someone just needs to find out the dimentions of the metal sheets. It doesnt take up much room in the bed.
waiting for the DIY's to come flying....

Edit: also I talked to these guys https://www.sulastic.com/Default.aspx
they said this works too and you dont need anything in the bed. Its about $500 for materials and $80 for the install. They have videos of the tundra too.

Aghh.. Okay.. now that IS A RIP OFF!. I thought maybe it would be maybe $200 at the most.. Can't you have some custom made progressive springs for the same amount that eliminate 100% of the bounce?

Willy needs to rethink that price IMHO.

Has anyone tried these or know of anyone that has?

Putting weights in the bed, especially concrete, sand bags etc, no matter how well you braced them could become great projectiles if you ever stopped fast or hit anything

Paying shipping on 300lbs of steel plating is retarded.

Go to yellowpages.com and search for steel. Call them up and tell them you want some half inch plate cut to X size and go pick it up. Drill some holes, paint it up and away you go.

If you want, buy some chain from the local hardware store along with some stainless fasteners and poof you have a "willybar"

I haven't received my truck yet, but if it bounces like that I am gonna be pissed!

If you have a lot of sectioned concrete freeways near you, prepare to be pissed.
