This is what I've done to mine. I have had this in my truck since March. Although it doesnt eliminate the bed bounce problem, it reduced it to a tolerable level. Better than sand bags and water bladders and you can still use your truck bed.
You paid over $600+ for this thing? I've been to the site and have recently become familiar with the product but have also learned it's WAY over priced and I couldn't image what shipping charges would be on something like that..
My Shurtrax was $63 and I can pile 500lbs on top of it. If I need the entire bed I"ll drain it and kick out out temporarily.

Im local to the company so I didn't have to pay shipping. I was actually the first Tundra to have it installed. The price is up there compared to some other options but so were the price of my AMP steps vs Westin step tubes. If the watter bladder works for you than more power to you. I thought about going that route too but I use my truck bed often for gear and hauling my motorcycle. Using sandbags or filling up, draining, and taking a bladder in/out everytime I needed to use it wasn't gonna do it for me. Im just posting a mod that I have done to inform tundra owners with this bed bounce of other options. So far IMO its been the best mod I have done to my truck.
I just put a toolbox in mine. With everything in it (and the box) it's probably 250lbs+. Bed bounce cured AND I have a tool box! It's a truck, it's supposed to have stuff in the bed.
Also, I think the location of the weight being right at the point of flexure may have something to do with it. It produces a much, much smaller moment that it would if the weight were located more toward the rear of the bed which seems counterintuitive to the Willy Bar. Maybe it perfectly located in the 'sweet spot' to dampen the harmonic. However, you have to imagine that if that sucker got to bouncing that bad with 300lbs to 400lbs toward the rear - that dude may flip over the cab and you'd be looking at your tail lights through your windshield as you drove down the road!

Thanks for sharing your experience with the WB. I believe your probably the only person on this forum that has one of those.. Don't get me wrong though, when I first heard about it.. I was very excited of the potential to resolve my bed bounce, however disappointed that it was gonna cost that much!
I don't like the idea of having to tote anything in the bed of my truck to fix something that Toyota should be completely embarrassed even exists on their flagship Truck and refuses to fix for it's loyal customers.. but the bed bounce has so ruined my love for this truck, the only thing I can try now that's reasonably priced is the ST.
Fortunately I don't haul that much and plan to hide the embarrassment of a water bladder in the back with a tonneau cover.. LOL.
Its amazing how different the truck rides when there's a few 100 lbs back there..
I already did some digging on that item and found someone who installed it and said it did NOTHING to resolve the bed bounce and even mentioned making the ride feel worse..
wow. that sucks. I really think this is the only true problem with the Tundra. The giant water bladder that takes up the whole bed I cant live with. If the Sulastic does not work I guess its time for me to build my own willey bar. Seems simple enough and should cost about half the price or less.
P.S. whats WB & ST? Warner Bros and sugar tits?

I seem to be experiencing the same problem. I will order the kneeling pad and try the fix. Hopefully Toyota will figure out there is a problem and put out a TSB.
the kneeling pad? wtf is that?
Speaking of a TSB. Isnt there some online thing we can all sign and send to Toyota to show them its not 1 or 2 but almost all Tundra owners with this problem so they will do something about it?

It's idea was introduced here along time ago. It was cut into two pieces and placed between the spare tire and the frame. Cinching the spare back up tight created a damping effect. It worked for a while until the high density foam of the pad got a "memory" from being compressed.
I contacted Toyota several times since August '07. At first, they said they were aware of the issue and were working on a fix. But the last time I contacted them (around April this year) they told me it was a "characteristic of the truck" and there would not be a fix.
I installed my Shurtrax Friday. It's just amazing the complete difference in ride quality with the weight back there.. Crazy, it's like it rides 100x better than most cars so I know this truck is certainly capable of performing better in ride quality and a shame Toyota gave up so easily.
So far what do we know though.. The willybar and the shurtrax both employ weight to resolve the bouncy ride. What significant is weight having on the truck.. Is it simply preloading the stock Leaf Springs? or is the weight taking the slack out of the frame flex so that the leaf springs/suspension components actually work as one instead of against each other?
My Theory is that the weight is taking out the flex in the frame.. Other than weight in the box is there any other way to achieve the same thing? Maybe a brace or something in the right place. I dunno..
I see the one on their website that is $140.00 + tax. Where did you get it for $63.00? Which one did you get?
I have a bed extender. Wouldnt that thing be in the way of it so I would have to choose one or the other and not both the bed extender & shurtrax?
If someone is a dick couldnt they just walk by your truck and stab it with a knife and its ruined?

Yeah I bought mine from amazon for $63 and free 2 day shipping.. To get the free shipping you have to do their Prime Membership trial which is free to try and has a little button you click on that says "Do Not Auto Upgrade" so you don't have to worry about it charging you a month later.
I believe you can position the shurtrax so that your bed extender won't be in the way at all.
and of course someone could be a dick and stab it with a knife as easily as they could a Convertible Top, tonneau cover, etc. I hardly doubt anyone would notice you have the shurtrax installed though.. It sits rather low in the bed and as tall as the truck is you'd have to walk over and purposely look down into the bed to notice it..
I do plan on purchasing a tonneau cover for my truck though just to keep well out of site. If anyone asks what it is.. Just explain to them it's a simple way to add a little weight to the bed to help with traction and increases stability of the truck.
I paid $39 for mine and almost a year later it is still in good shape. It is slightly faded and also has handled some weight. I had all my flooring riding on top of that thing without a hitch. As for someone vandalizing it with a knife. It would be a real stretch for some to do that by just walking by and slicing it. I have a hard time reaching into the bed for stuff standing on a curb. The one thing that really pisses me off is when some jerk off decides my truck bed is a trash can for their bags of fried fat from Mcpoison or Burger Crap.
