Griffy;
You're an idiot to make that statement on a TRUCK forum. I'm 48 years old and have never owned a car. My first vehicle was a '77 Chevy half ton with three on the tree. I currently own an '02 Excursion, an '03 trailblazer and a '96 Ram 1500 along with this '08 Tundra. I know what a truck is. Plus, the Tundra doesn't "resemble" a 3/4 ton truck with its semi floating axle and 5 bolt hubs. If you don't know what a Full floating axle is just Google it. ALL 3/4 trucks have full floaters.

This thing can really rock and roll on the freeways here in CA and it's bad enough to be embarrassing as many have mentioned. NOTHING like a truck should do. Add to it the pathetic AI transmission, the lack of owner programmable features, many other annoyances and I am not thrilled with my Toyota. Hell, my '02 Ex allows me to program most things I see people asking for in this forum and it's based on a '99 design.

Many on this forum call the Big 3 a pile but at least none of the ones I have owned embarrass me on the freeway. My '96 RAM has 214,000 miles on it, including a lot of towing miles, and it does not behave like this thing. I typically keep my trucks 15 years and I assumed I would have the Tundra when I retired but I don't see that happening now that I have owned it for a few months.

Dang man, a little sensitive there?

I tend to agree with that guy myself, the Tundra does seem a bit closer to a 3/4t design than it does a 1/2t. Hell, somewhere on this site theres a couple pics of the front wheel bearings compared to a Super-Duty's, practically identical, and the same size IIRC. Then theres the ring-gear size. Then look at the frame layouts, very similar in most sections that matter (at least compared to my F250). And for axles its a minor distinction, the FF axle remark is a stupid point on your part. Whether you can pull the shaft out independently or not has nothing to do with the general solid axle configuration in relation to the rest of the truck.

For some one who "knows what a truck is", you might wanna take a closer look at your Excursion and Trailblazer - they aint "trucks".

Did you test drive the Tundra before you bought? Or take a look at the specs or do any research before you bought? Doesn't sound like it.

BTW, the name calling isn't necessary....there's better ways to make a point. C'mon man, you're better than that!
