This is a discussion thread titled "Creeking in front end?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Anyone have this issue yet? My truck has around 3,500 miles on it but has been making it since I got it. I can here the creek when I let my foot off the brake and the truck rolls forward at idle. If I'm at idle going over a bumpy road I can hear it. Once I come off idle I can't hear it; not sure if it's engine noise that blocks me from hearing it once I'm moving or what. Also if the windows are down I can't hear it because these engines are so loud
I'm thinking something needs to be lubed. Can anyone direct me to particular lubing points that could be causing this? I just don't want something to wear prematurely due to lacking lube...
My wife's 07 Seq. has done the same thing since we got it. I told her to ask them about lubing it up last time she went in for regular service. They told her it was normal. My $ss, my 05 Tundra doesn't do it and never has.

It's the hood rubbing against one or more of the many rubber bumpers. Try pushing sideways on the chrome trim at the front and you should be able to duplicate the sound. My 2000 did the same thing. Lubricate the bumpers.

OK. I would call it sort of a creaking or light clunking sound. It happens when I apply the brake at low speed, and it is louder when the truck is cold. My Toyota dealer service included checking out the struts, dropping the tie rod and front stabilizer, and even removing the steering rack! No dice.
I had something similar and it was a misaligned body mount. Only discovered what the sound was when I pushed at the four corners. Did a body alignment and all was well.
I'm not an expert but I think I got the same issue. The sound seems to come from the right front strut. I heard that sound when I go over a high bump. I will have the dealer take a look at it next time I stop by.
