This is a discussion thread titled "Removal of Front Splash Guards", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I need to remove the splash guards that are in front of each front wheel. They are held on by 3 plastic pin fasteners and then some bolts underneath. How do I remove the plastic fasteners without trashing them? They are round headed, and two can be easily seen on the forward edge of the wheel well opening where the guard attaches to the fender. It seems like prying is going to break them and I don't want to do that. Do you turn them and they come out?

Use a pick or small screwdriver to lift the center pin up. This will release the fastener and you can just pull it right out without damaging it. Reinstall it and push the pin back in and your done.

Ya, these particular ones don't have the center pin like a lot of them on the truck in other areas. So I said to heck with it and with a screwdriver and pair of needle nose I pried them up and out and they look just fine and are reusable. But thanks for the reply, and yes what you said does work for many of the nylon fasteners on the vehicle which are the two piece type with the center pin.
