Default raise front to level, but what about lowering back to level?

I see kits to raise the front to be level with the rear, but do they sell something that will lower the rear to match the front?

If no such thing exists, what is the reason for it being so (besides that you would lose rear suspension travel under heavy load, but lets say you werent going to load up the bed or tow all that much)

Im sure someone has. Not me cuz I LIFTED mine.
As I recall, the leaf springs are on top of the axle on a stock vehicle. If you moved them to a position UNDER the axle, that would significantly lower the height while not affecting the suspension.
Remember to adjust your headlights.

I want to do the same thing. I am wondering if it could be done with a shackle kit without interferring with anything else? I only want to drop the rear by about 1.5 inches, since I like a slight rise to the back. I have lifted my last few trucks, but with a rcsb the difference is almost exagerated.

You have a few options from companies that make drop kits. I personally installed the SOS drop kit, which dropped the front 2" and the rear is adjustable from 4 to 5". No company can make simple 2" drop shackles for the rear as the way the suspension is set up with the leafs. A website that outlines the SOS drop kit is: TundraRacing homepage

You can take out the factory overload which will lower it about an inch. Not sure how it will affect the load carrying capacity though.

I crawled under it last night. I agree that the only practical way to get just a little rear drop would be to take out the overload leaf. I am reluctant to do that because I had some axle wrap problems on my last Tacoma with the V6 and Supercharger. I can only imagine the wrap the 5.7 might cause without the overload.
I think I will just bump the front up an inch.
Thanks for the response.

I still say that if you relocate the springs to UNDER the axle, you will lower the rear by 3-4 inches and not affect the ride.

I think a 3-4" drop in the rear would make the front sit higher if you left the front stock? Is relocating the springs under the axle hard to do? I've lowered many cars in my life but have never messed with trucks.

It wouldnt appear to be overly difficult. You might have to measure all things to decide where it would sit after the mods. ADJUST THE HEADLIGHTS!!!

I know this is an old thread, but I haven't found any solution to accomplish this. Anything new out there?

I don't want to drop the front, just level the rear (maybe install airbags after that to compensate when towing the boat).
