I have successfully paired my 700P and my JBL/NAV with Bluetooth. I just entered the key (given on the truck's bluetooth set up screen) when I turned on bluetooth on my 700P. It always connects correctly whenever I get into my truck. I have not tried to download my contacts though.
I have the 750p and have been able to get it paired. I did however have a little trouble getting it to work. If I remember correctly (its been a few months), once you enter the key into the truck, you then must make your treo manaully connect the first time. On my 750p I hit the menu button, and brought up a selection that said connect, it then immediatley connected. Once the initial synch has been done manually, it has connected automaticly upon startup.
Thanks for the fast replies. Where do you enter the code that you get from the JBL system. I can't seem to find where you put it info the Treo
you have to go to the Bluetooth menu. Make sure it is "ON". Then touch "Setup Devices", then "Hands-free Setup", then "Next". It will then go into a search for nearby devices. That is when you need to have the truck's system "searching". Then your phone should find it and say "HANDS FREE" in the devices to select from. Select it, press "OK" and it should come up with a prompt to enter in the code on your phone. Once entered, i think it says "Connect" on the phone. Select that, wait a moment, and it should says "pairing successful" in the truck.
I have seen some threads about sync issues between the Treo and the Tundra Bluetooth. This frustrated the hell out of me since I use mine extensively for mobile communications for work. That said, I did some investigating to try and resolve. After a call to Toyota Customer Care I was told the Palm devices would not work since Palm would not release their device code to Toyota. This seems particularly odd since the Treo is a wildly popular smartphone for business (not quite as popular as the Blackberry, but up there).
However, after some Googling.... I found a Prius forum that provided a solution that worked great. My phone is now paired and I can make and receive calls. I have not found a way to transfer phone book entries yet, but I can add them manually via the voice commands.
If you are having problems follow these steps:
1. Turn your phone’s Bluetooth on
2. Start the pairing process in the truck
3. When your phone finds the truck's Bluetooth, select it and enter the 4 digit security code for your truck (at this point the phone will indicate it is paired, but if you are like me the truck keeps saying "searching")
4. IMPORTANT..... while the truck is still indicating it is searching... place a phone call via your cellular --- BINGO... it should pair up!!!!
