Default low beam part of headlights

Not sure if it has been asked before, or discussed, but i could not find much in a search, is there a bulb to be whiter and better coverage for the low beam? just replacement bulb do not want to get into retrofitting hid's along the line of hid's what if you do not use a projector? just put them in the same as a regular bulb?

To answer part of your question: You can use HIDs without a projector housing, however some people mention that it causes more glare. Projector housings are the sh!t, and there's nothing better.

I replaced mine with a set of PIAA's .. I don't recall the # right now.. It's down in the glove of my truck.. They are pretty decent..

I was in the same boat as you. I just got replacement bulbs. If you are going to do it, purchase a high quality bulb such as PIAA, Nokya, or Silverstars. Everyone has their favorites, I went with Nokya and love them. When you purchase your bulbs they will have a kelvin rating. (i.e. 5000k) This kelvin rating determines the color of the bulb. 4000k-5000k is a very pure white. I went with the 5000k. Once you get above 6000k they start to turn blue and then purple on down the line. Go below about 3000k and you start to get an amber color. Confused? Here is the link to a color chart, http://www.delonixradar.com.au/images/HID_poster.jpg

Hope this helps.

a buddy of mine had a set in his buick rendezvous, and while they were bright and looked nice, one blew after only three days of use. and yes we were careful not to handle the actual bulb. sylvania nor the parts store wanted to stand behind them so it just put a bad taste in my mouth for sylvania. he wound up eating the cost for the silverstars and bought a set of off brand headlights from ebay and has not had a seconds trouble out of them in over three months. fluke? maybe. but it still pi$$ed me off, and he was livid!

i had thought about the black headlight mod, and i really like it, but im kinda gettin into chrome accessories and whatnot so i think i will just leave them chrome. however i do plan on either removing or smoking/tinting the triangle shaped amber side markers in the headlight and the ones on my towing mirrors.

As far as my mods go pretty simple

nokya 5000k headlights & fogs
chrome limited door handles
putco chrome tailgate handle
avs in channel ventshades
door sill protectors
bed extender
k&n air filter
20% tint
tube step rails
armorthane spray in bedliner
flowmaster true dual super 44 exhaust

If you think of it, can you track the part number down? I looked at the Nokya and PIAA but cannot seem to find a reliable application guide. I have narrowed it down that the low beam is an H11...

Yes, glare as in toward oncoming vehicles. And that is for using HIDs without a projector housing.

Thats what I ordered, h11 for the lows, h10 for the fogs. Not sure about the part numbers, but here is the application guide from sylvania. http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

BTW, I ordered my nokyas from autothing.com. At the time they were running a special of two pairs of nokya bulbs for $57.95, i think now it is only for the arctic white for that price.
