TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "2007 Tundra vs 2007 6.1 Hemi Charger....", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
At 9.79 lbs/HP for the Charger and 12.69 lbs/HP for the Tundra, something doesn't seem right.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience!
Cool vid! If that was a 1/4 mile track the tundra would of lost. I ran a hemi charger 5.7 which is 345hp at the track and beat him.I ran 14.2 he ran a 14.4. But the 6.1 has 425hp much quicker!
I didn't see any wheel spin in the video. I like the Tundy's custom side exhaust.

Two points.
1. The Charger spotted the Tundra nearly a length, ~ 1/10 sec.
2. I think with a time in what appears to be hi 13's by the Tundra, it's a 1/4 mile track.
Would be interesting to know if the Tundra has stickier-than-stock tires.

It's an 1/8 mi track so traction control is a HUGE advantage.
the SRT has better traction control than the tundra.
and you guys should consult the other thread on this. its a complete BS race. the tundra ran a 16.xx which is 3 seconds slower than the SRT in the 1/4. somethin aint right

This video was filmed on an 1/8 mile track. Feel free to visit Breakawaydragway

standard tires installed at SET port in Jacksonville available with the 22's seen on the video

obviously not, the Charger feathered the launch, the Tundra mashed the accelerator.

there is no other thread on this race, as I am the one who posted the one and only video of this race on youtube that our dealership filmed in sept at a public Show and Go event in NW Florida. The driver of the Charger is a member of AMCC in NW Florida and has since dropped >40 large on an SR/T-10 in preperation for next year. And we are patiently awaiting the TRD supercharger
BTW, what this video clearly demonstrates is how key drivers are to the race equation. It's clear that the tundra reacted quicker. Moral of the story: if you want to sharpen your drag skills, seek out an 1/8 mi track.

well i own both vehicles. and i can tell you that the traction on the SRT is set up better for racing. its not so over sensitive. and besides that, if the guy in the video had any idea about his car. he would have had the traction turned completely off.

heres the link to the original thread that was posted with this video. thats why this thread has no responses, because everyone responded to the first one.

Ok if it was filmed at an 1/8 mile track then why 16sec at 93mph? Try explaining that one
