200 miles in Florida is much different than 200 mles in Upstate NY (or in the Carolinas). I drove 150 miles (round trip) this Sunday. Which is a nice Sunday drive.

Still sucks that when I got home the fuel gauge was on 'E'. I only had a total of 237 miles on the tank and it took 17 gallons. (around 14 mpg) I guess I got too used to my last truck that had 600+ mile range.

Anyways, I may call TF and see if there is a way to add the 45 Gal. replacement tank and keep the 26 Gal. stock tank. I might be able to retrofit one of their transfer systems if there is a way to mount one of the tanks on the other side of the bed... Then I am interested. If not... I will wait a little bit before getting the tank.

Transfer-Flow came through with a 47 gallon Tank for the 2007-2008 Tundra. Meets all NON-California emissions stuff. $1000 regular price..$850 introductory price. I have had GOOD luck with their aftermarket tanks in my converted Ford Van (Sporstmobile).

Yes, they are waiting for CARB's good graces, to sell the tank to Californians.

Sure. Since I have been on their A$$ all this time to get it finished and then informing everone on bunch of forums the progress, kind of promoting the product I asked them to at least give me a bigger brake, So they gave me another $150 off. still had to pay $200 for shipping.

Cool! Glad they gave you a break.

Well, I'd still be close to $1,000 by the time I paid shipping. Too rich for my current budget.

Damn! Wish Toyota would have put a decent size tank in these to start with.

How was the installation?

I am interested in how the install went as well. I wonder if they have approved it for Crewmax yet?

Looking underneath te truck when I di my first oil change, there is not enough room for anythig other than a replacement tank or one that would replace the spare tire... Even with major exhaust reolocating I don't see that happening.

In the regular bed 6.5' dcab, there is a lot of room. I have an idealized vision of the installation: you know, attach new tank by hanging brackets like so, plug the sensor for the fuel level in here, attach the fuel line and return there, and the filler tube goes on there, done.

Then I have the realistic one: one of the the hangers won't come off, the screw gets stripped, the fuel line won't come off, then it's too long and has to be cut, then the attachment for the level sensor is too short, then the fuel filler wasn't exactly lined up and the whole tank has to be loosened and moved forward. . .

Anyone who's done this type of work knows exactly what I'm talking about. . .
