After reading a lot of various posts, it appears that a TechStream or similar programmer is required to:
1) Change a multitude of settings such as door lock/unlock conditions (if you don't have a Limited)
2) Add a third key fob
3) Change TPMS
I know you can go to a dealer and have changes made, but it is very inconvienent for me.
At around $7k, the TechStream is too pricey. Looking at
https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfo...ice&_nfpb=true it appears that the listed J2534 reprogrammers can reprogram many things, but I haven't found a specific list of what can be reprogrammed.
The only one of the links that I found a price on shows the reprogrammer is around $1200; with the Scan Tool software added (to be able to do diagnostics), it's probably closer to $2k.
The reprogrammers also require you purchase the Toyota Calibration Software from Toyota- anybody know what the price is?
Does anybody have any knowledge or experience about these tools?
