Default new bug shield install ???s

Just purchased a new bug shield for 07 crewmax and was looking at the install and there are tabs/flanges that go between the top of the grill and the hood.(after removing/loosening grill) Doesn't seem like much clearance to me , was just wondering if there is a rub issue as far as the paint goes? Has anybody removed their shield after a few months and inspected paint for damage? The manufacturer sent 2 short pieces(about2 in.) of what they call anti abrasive material ( looks like 3m clear bra stuff)to place between hood and shield so they must think there could be an issue. Should I cover the entire hood edge with this stuff or will it be o.k. Any thoughts or experience or issues?

Default Re: new bug shield install ???s

I placed a piece of thin weatherstrip material between bug guard and hood. No doubt there will be abrasion and damage paint behind guard. Just my 2 cents.
