We just published a review of the Truxxx 3" Lift Kit for the 07'+ Tundra. Here's the link:
Truxxx Tundra 3" Lift Kit Review | tundraheadquarters.com
The review includes some before and after photos as well as a short installation video (probably our best install video to date).
Pros:- No need for a strut compressor when installing the Truxxx kit, making it ideal for home installation.
- Because the spacer is on top of the strut assembly (instead of inside it), the pre-load on the spring is reduced (compared to other kits). That means the ride is about the same as stock with the kit installed.
Cons:- The kit is a little pricey. We found it for $298 on ebay (much better than the Truxxx website price of $367), but that's still more than the ToyTec 3" lift kit we reviewed.
- Because the spacer is on top of the strut assembly, the strut is longer than normal and places extra wear and tear on ball joints and CV axles (but how much extra wear and tear is debatable).
Based on our review, if you're considering the Truxxx kit our recommendation is to also consider the ToyTec kit, especially if you don't mind the extra installation time and expense that comes with the need for strut compression. However, for home installation with basic tools, the Truxxx kit might be the best option.
