TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "DIY: Black Headlight Mod with Video Tutorial", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
i was worried about the paint actually evaporating and fogging up the glass, so what i did was actually bake the parts that i painted at a very low 150 degrees for about 10 minutes after they were fully dry. i did this hoping that whatever chemicals there are in the spray would dissappear from the heat.
Just did my headlights today. Thanks a bunch to 006 for the awesome instructions and video. Here are some pics.

It was actually a satin paint. thanks though. I am pretty proud of myself on them. I do not mess with vehicles to often. It was nice to have the support that this site has proven to offer. It made things run smoother than I could imagine.

mods: corsa dual split side sport series, TRD CAI, TRD RSB, weathertech front liners, all the way around 5% tint, windshield 35% tint, black headlights
future mods: complete sound system, 22" wheels/tires, front and rear bumpers painted in black, all grilles painted in black, and if i find some nice place to convert to leather seats
wish mods: will be S/C along with big brake kit and JBA headers
I finally talked myself into doing it today. I have one side done and am waiting for the paint to dry on headlight #2. The writeup is a lifesaver. I found the best method for reassembly was another 9 minutes in the oven after painting to heat up the adhesive. Pics coming shortly.
Edit: All done
