THanks!. you might want to update your first post with this video thread because they are two completely different links.. This one works the other one doesn't.
Yes I know. Trust me. However, I think because the post is so old (now) it won't let me edit it. Which is why I had to make a reply with it. I will contact a moderator about it though.

I went and got the Krylon Fusion paint (satin black) today. I did a pratice run on an old Acura TL light I had sitting in the closet. Everything went well. I am just not sure how well it resealed. I like the fact that the Tundra light has screws to squeeze it back together. Any other suggestions before I do this mod next week?
006 - Thanks for spending so much time on this project to make it an easy DIY for others.
I believe there should be a MODS section where significant contributions, such as this one, are highlighted to keep them from being lost in the mainstream. If a member gets bored one weekend, all they have to do is visit the MODS section and quickly find a project to occupy their time.

As far as tips...only thing I can suggest is to make sure you understand the process and watch the video and read the tutorial, everything you need is there. Make sure to take your time on the paint and do at least 3 coats, evenly. Don't try to get it completely black in one shot. Be patient. That's about it

Thanks.
The patient part is why I am waiting so I have more time and don't feel rushed by wife, kids, etc. Also, I have watched the video and read and found very helpful practicing on a sacrificial light! Thanks for all your hard work.
What about trying the black headlight mod on the rear brake lights. It looks like the reverse section has the same set-up. I know you are working on led brake lights. This might look good until your design comes to life. Maybe a quick photoshop of what it might look like?
I wish man. The tail lights do not come apart though, unfortunately. Once they assemble them they are stuck like that. There is no way to get them apart without breaking them. The only options are to to just get some tail light tint film, which is heavy vinyl that goes on like window tint, or wait for the aftermarket LED replacements. By the way, the film I ordered never came so I cancelled the order. Their answer to the delay gave me the impression that basically they forgot to ship it out. Understandable, it happens...but they forgot for two weeks? That's unacceptable. Besides, I'd rather use that $50 towards some LED replacements anyway.
