TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Fog light mod?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I know this thread is a little old, but I just wanted to see if anyone has had any success with this mod. I'm specifically interested in "idea #1" posted earlier by Eddie. Love the idea of having full control of fogs utilizing the oem switch. The concept is good, but no one has responded to this thread advising of success. Thanks for any updates.
is there any way (thats not too complicated) to make the driving lights come on with just the parking lights? and stay on when the high beams are on? i hate that they can only be on when the low beams are on.
MODERATOR NOTE:corrected topic, changed to fog lights
Ive done it about 3 times on my previous cars.
1) Get a fog light wiring harness and a 9005 type bulb socket. (lots on ebay)
2) Connect (tap) the parking light positive lead to the relay to actuate the fog lights.
This connection will turn on your fog lights when the parking lights are on, and all 6 of your lights will turn on when you high beam. No cutting of your factory wirings. You will lose the function of your factory fog light switch.

I had the PIAA lights installed. I like the idea of having a seperate switch. I can turn on the brights with the fog lights or I can have the parking lights with just the fogs.
I am working on changing my employer to another dealer right now so sorry if looking to see if I can turn my fog lights on without the headlights is not top priority. I will do it when I get a chance. It just may be a while. Unless someone comes into work and pays to have it done.

I'm bummed that an "easier" way using the OE switch hasn't been found. I'm not motivated to tear my schtuff up though to figure it out I'll keep waiting, but I'll probably sell my truck before a way is found...
