Just wire in a switch from the power supply to the step. That way you can keep it on for regular use and then just disable it when you want to.

I own an 07 CM and would really like a set of these to install on my truck. They are pretty pricey though. Is there any way we could get a Group Buy going on these things. I just participated in the Group Buy for the Wet Okole seat covers and got 25% off. That is a heck of a discount and would be great to get something like that going on the steaps. I noticed that there is a guy from Realtruck.com in this thread. Maybe he can get something started?

Anyone got them yet? Their website has already posted a part number for both Dcab and CrewMax. If so, what was your cost, and if you are satisfied with the fit and finish? Is it fully hidden below or does it show? I've looked underneath my truck and there's really no room for it to tuck up underneath the body and frame.
I got mine a few weeks back and I think they're great. Very clean when doors are closed...they tuck right under the truck and you hardly notice they are there. Here are some pics... (sorry for the night pictures)

These AMP powersteps are definitely on my short list....thanks for posting pics. Any daytime pics?
I would shoot some this morning for you but my wife took my truck this morning so I won't be able to post until tomorrow because she gets back after dark tonight....

Come on guys, lets see how many people are interested and maybe we can get a group buy going. These steps are awesome but yes they are a little pricey!!
Got mine in this week and completed the install myself. Fairly simple; took about 3.5 hours from start to finish. The only real problem that came up during the install was the wire colors for both rear door trigger wires.
The driver side rear door wire is dark grey from the AMP harness, but in the wiring loom of the truck, there are (2) dark grey wires. You have to open the rear door switch to see the true color that is connected to it, then locate it in the loom, then to determine which one is the correct one, use a multi-meter and look for the 11.84 ~ 12 VDC read out when the rear door is open and check it when closed at 0.0 VDC and that'll be your wire. Same with the passenger side rear door. There are (2) green wires as well. Not sure if it's only like this for the 07's though.
Don't forget to relocate the E-brake bracket located in front of the rear wheel well as per the instructions (which isn't clear on the location). You'll have to bend the lock tab flat to the frame. Hope this helps.
Linkage uses factory running board holes.
Installation of Controller module
Trigger wire connections passenger side
Power Steps fully retracted
Power Steps fully extended
E-Brake bracket shown with tab flattened and reinstalled with cable above thread hole
These things are awesome! They hide very well and are light wieght yet durable. $1200~ was my cost.
