So the consensus is that flat or matte on any other collor than black, and black trucks should be done in high gloss? I asked this because I have a black crewmax and on my way to pick up the paint & sealer so I can do this mod tomorrow. The brand and color name that worked well would be a great help. Thanks

The gloss would look best, IMO, from doing rob's CM. However, when the lens is put back on and you reinstall the light on the truck pretty much any finish except maybe flat looks just glossy enough. But, if you still haven't bought the paint, just get gloss since yours is black. It will flow perfectly and the glossier the paint, the deeper it looks.

Hey, I can't ever turn down some beer! Just hit me up with a PM closer to that time and we can iron out details. Hopefully by then I will have a couple more mods done. LEDs are in the mail as we speak, can't wait to see my gauges in white instead of that amber color.

I live on the NE side of SA, O'Conner and 1604 (near Rolling Oaks Mall) so you are a good 20-30 minutes away from where I'm at.

Questions;

1. Is light output reduced any from factory?

2. Have you tried/thought about blacking out lower foglights to match??

no,
you cannot do this to foglights, you need to keep the reflective parts

this is also why i left my inner side marker area on my lights chrome just as the newer ones and the tacos i have done. the turn signals will not work good if you paint them black inside. i think leaving all the reflective areas with lights chrome and painting everything else black makes it look like it was made that way and not just painted :P here are some of my modded lights (ive done my camry, my moms corolla(not shown), friends taco, friends x-runner, MY 05tundra) **i have since changed my grille**
