TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Decisions on Parts", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Well my dealer said that when I come up on saturday to pay for the truck that anything I order that day is at dealer cost. I am considering ordering the TRD dual exhaust and the TRD CAI since I planned on getting them eventually anyway. Got him the throw in a bug guard in the OTD price so thats taken care of. Good idea to order right away? Anyone had trouble installing themselves and not getting warranty work covered? Didn't want to pay the dealer when I am an at home mechanica... Parts guy said it shouldn't be a problem but I wanted to know from you guys... thanks!
BUMP, anyone with these parts (both preferably) have any regrets? So far from my search, other than prices, people are relatively happy with these products?
365 for the intake i believe and 550 for the mufler section of the exhaust and I am not sure about the tail pipes, but I think sparks has them for about 350, so i am thinking about 325 or less... Total is looking like somewhere in the 1200-1400 range? Does this sound bad?
I paid $395. for the TRD CAI from sparks, so your dealer price is a bit cheaper. Not hard to install, but if the dealer installs it the CAI is covered for the full term of the truck warranty as opposed to 1 year if you do it.
Don't have the TRD duels, so can't help there.
I do not regret getting the CAI or the cat back exhaust (in my case Gibson single) I love em.
I think a truck with almost 4oo ponies should sound like theres somthing going on under the hood IMO.
If your not going to be offroading much I suggest looking into the TRD anti sway bar. Many positive remarks on that item. Makes a big differance in cornering.

The TRD sway bar is a must in the long run for me, but right now I was looking for things that I could swipe a good deal on and the two items (exhaust, intake) are my price limit for now... How much do you think they would charge to do the exhaust and intake?
Since you asked...just remember not to get all caught up in the new car thing and drop a few $grand$ on things you might decide down the road that you didn't really need and wish you'd spent the money elsewhere.
The WeatherTech floor mats rule, and a LineX spray in liner would be nice IMO.

Thanks for your responses guys... willy, I know what you mean, and that is exactly why I want to know if anyone did what I want to do and bought the stuff and looked back on it and asked themselves why. To be honest, thinking about it more, I have decided that I will get more satifaction out of the exhaust at first and since its not very much more, I will do the sway bar as well. So right now the intake is on the back burner, even though I know it sounds sweet! Also, I think that the intake may come down in price in the future, but the exhaust will not fluctuate nearly as much, nor will the sway bar (it has been like this in my experience with my last toyota).
