Default Truxx 3" kit

I have a d-cab trd 4x4 and want to raise the front for looks and more ground clearence. I'm looking for any pics and opinions of the truxx 3" kit. Seems like a good set way to go at a decaent price. Does the rear look too high with the 1" block? Do you have any vibrations or any other driveability problems? My other option is the readylift front leveling kit. Thanks for any info.

I have it. No problems yet and still rides like stock. It sits level with the rear blocks in!

Either the Truxxx or the Toy-Tec are the best spacer kits in my opinion. I have the Truxxx.

I installed the Truxxx on my CM yesterday. I am really happy with the way the truck sits, and the ride did not change at all. In the past I have used Toytec and there kit is nice as well, although in my opinion it did make the front end a little stiffer. I should have some pics up later today.

Good luck.

Here's mine with the Truxxx and 35x12.5 rubber. I concur with those above...it sits perfectly and rides just as well as stock.

Can the 1" rear blocks on the Truxx be used with the TRD Sway bar?

I looked at a sway bar mounted on a stock truck at the dealership today.
It appears to me that you could easily mount it with the 1" block.
Keep in mind, the sway bar will prevent articulation as designed.
You are better off with a product like Supersprings, they work well
for anti-sway as well as overload and will allow the rear axle to fully articulate.

I just installed the truxx kit last week ,,,and it seems with out a cap on , it just sits level .. but put 3 kids and dog in back and headlights are bird watching ...Well problem solved ..it turns out that you can use 1 1/2 "blocks in the rear as oppesed to the 1" blocks that come with the kit now it sits just a little bit higher in the rear but loos good and with the kids & dog in there now it sits level i'm lovin it ....

Anyone with this kit have problems with getting an alignment? I took my truck to a local shop for an alignment and they told me that since my truck has VSC that the dealer would have to do the alignment since you have to recalibrate the VSC? I am not sure that I fully believe this, but was wondering what everyone else has done.

Thanks,

Jeff

they are right, you are supposed to do a zero point calibration on the VSC, because of the sensors...should only take the dealer about 10 -15 minutes, but the alignment should be done first and can be done anywhere

Thanks this what I suspected. I will go back and talk to the local shop and see if they will still go it.

How do they perform anti-roll? Does one side engage the superspring when the truck rolls that direction? Just curious.

Looks like a viable alternative to the TRD sway bar, and it doesn't limit articulation, I like that. However, unlike a sway bar, the superspring lift doesn't appear to apply a force on both sides of the axle.

I looked at your supersprings thread. Looks like a good setup, I just hope it doesn't stiffen the ride too much. Thanks for the info!

Default Re: Truxx 3" kit

I would like to install either the 3" Truxxx or 3" ToyTec. The Truxxx would definitely be easier to install since you do not need to compress the front coils as with the ToyTec. However, according to the review by TundraHq, the Truxxx will cause the front CV joints to wear prematurely and for that reason (and a couple others) TundraHq recommends the ToyTec.

What are your (anyone's) thoughts on the CV joint wear consideration in choosing a brand of lift?
