TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "switches?", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I'm looking for a factory look-a-like switch for the dash to wire my lights. Anyone know where I could find one that will fit the hole?
Thanks!

you can buy another factory switch and use it. the 3 way rocker switches that are used for the interior lighting would work. You would just use 2 of the 3 throws though. Or isnt the switch for the bedlight just an on/off switch? if so that would work even better.
That's a very good idea...however, Toyota is selling them for like 40 bucks a piece...a little crazy and the switch will still have the bed light symbol on it....thought I might be able to get a little creative and get some lit switches or something.
Thanks for the suggestion!

What do you mean....look for a junked tundra...or is there a specific car that you were thinking of?

I posted a question on Auxiliary Switches, see below. Might keep you from going down some of those thoughts. Also below are some after market switches that I have found. I have not ordered or installed any yet, so I do not have any personal experience. I'll probably go with the first or last.
Addons:
(LineX Bed Liner, Bed Rails, Aries 4" Deluxe Oval Step Bars, Tinted front windows - 35%, Prodige Brake Contoller, BakFlip, K&N Drop In, Tailgate Auto lock/unlock)
Down the road:
Custom console organizer, Console LED Light, Custom Rear Bed step, Back Up Camera, Fog Lights (updated 9/17/08)
I've been looking through a bunch of websites, but being electrically challenged, I'm not sure about wether or not to use a three position rocker switch or what. So I've got my EE buddies on the quest. I'll get back to you!

OK well I went to the dealer looking for a switch which would fit in and the parts guy told me that any dashboard switch for any Toyota has the same dimensions, and I could use a fog light switch.
I haven't done this yet, and I may have been misinformed.
But the first place I'll look when it's warmer than the current -25* will be a junkyard

you only need a 2 position for foglights. on or off thats it.
The lamps that I bought actually have a high and low beam, that's why I was looking for the three position switch.

I have been looking for switches as well. The inserts in the Tundra are fairly deep. I can't seem to find an aftermarket specifically designed for the Tundra/Toyota. The switches I have been looking at are the micro rockers. They are smaller than the 1 1/4 by 7/8 insert. I was thinking to keep the insert in place and cut a whole in them for the micro switch to fit in?!
