Default Tire pressure?

Can anyone tell me why the TRD's BFG's require 30 psi in the front and 33 psi in the rear. I noticed that the front tires on the Tundras look half flat. The BFG is rated for 44 psi max and 40 psi brings it up pretty good. I just want to make sure I'm not going to mess anything up by running higher pressure because 30 psi looks like crap and it's not very good for the tire. It doesn't affect ride quality or handling at all running a higher tire pressure, so, will it hurt? Thanks

38 psi on all four corners will serve you well
Amazing what another 8 psi of air does to the handling on these trucks.Ive tried the 40'ish ranges and have settled on the 38 psi has primo.
16K and all four tires are wearing extremely even.

a little extra air actually should increase MPG but not by a noticable difference! the tire PSI on the door Jam too me has allways been a little low for proper tire wear!! do 36 and bump them from there to 38 in all 4 if needed.

The factory wants you to have a soft ride they don't seem to care about milage or tire life. I keep mine at 38 empty and 44lbs when loaded.

In the winter on slick roads I run mine just what the door says. 30# in all fours. Lower pressure in the tires seems to aid in traction on the slick roads.

I agree. On good roads I run 35f/36r, but that's with 305/65/18 BFG AT. In snow I drop to 30f/31r.

BTW, I settled on my tire pressures after experimenting with everything from 30 to 50 in 3 pound increments. Turns out Discount Tire recently got a program that plugs in your OEM recommendations plus your aftermarket tire sizes to come up with a recommendation. Their computer program came pretty close (35f/35r) to what I had found (35f/36r) through experimentation.

Front Susp: Stock coilovers, 4" lift (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...6-4-inch-lift/), just swapped extra spacers for Bilstein 5100s on lowest setting, wheel well height still 41.5."

Rear Susp: ProComp ES3000 #326510 (2.25" taller than stock), 1.25" blocks plus PRG mini-pack (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...and-new-truck/) gives 2.25" total lift, parking brake cable bracket spacers, wheel well height 43."

Front diff and rear ds drop; trailer hitch electrical harness tucked up above bumper.

After 20K miles swapped 305/65/18 BFG AT for 285/75/18 Toyo AT, still on stock 18x8x60 offset TRD wheels, about 1/8" clearance to sway bar. Like the extra height but miss the width. Next time either 305/70/18 or 35x12.50/18.

Added 5th 285/75/18 Toyo AT as spare. Foam pad above spare to help with bed bounce.

Bed Bounce: Stiffer E-tires are worse than stock P-metric; biggest improvement from PRG mini-pack, slight improvement from shocks and foam pad above spare. Still a stiff ride but tolerable now.

Best things about this truck: 5.7 and transmission, interior size and comfort, very quiet at high speed.

Worst things about this truck: bed bounce, no VSC in 4wd, mileage sucks above 70.
