Default AC Seats???

Does anyone know if there is an after market upgrade to add AC cooled seats?

I loved this option on the Ford Expedition which offered heated and cooled seats.

Thx

Im almost positive that they have a small fan built in with the seat. My friend has a LS 430 and it was a competley self contained unit. He was looking to put one in his truck.

Can't tell you if there is an aftermarket kit, per se, just for the a/c seats. But when I had my black cloth seats changed with Katzskins Red Rock Leather, I has both the heat and a/c put in the front. Not sure if this is a kit Katzskins uses, or the shop that did the install got the kit somewhere, but they put the kit in.

My seats have 2 switches, 1 with h/l (high or low) and then 1 with H/C (heat or cool). It is a nice option because I am always HOT. So I can turn the cooled seats on. They do NOT work no where as good as the a/c seats on my 07 Escalade, those are the real deal. But it does help somewhat and is nice.

Not sure that helps, but it can be done.

You may be able to route the floor vent from under the seat up through the foam.

The new sequoia has heat and a/c in the seats. I looked at them and they have pinholes in the seat so the air can flow through. Wish we had that option in the tundra.

I think we could look in the 09 model to have this option. This will keep up with the other models.

I wonder if you could order a Sequoia seat to replace the Tundra one? Same basic frame and spacing on the Sequoia and the Crewmax arent they? Probably cost a fortune tho... Hmmm...
MOTAMHAN, I'm like you I COOK and the only time I use my heated seats is when its -40 and I had my truck outside otherwise I am keeping it cool in the cab.
I noted pin holes on the expedition seats too... I wonder how hard or expensive it would be to do after market...???

Thanks guys.

You are looking probably at $700 to $1000 each seat.

One of our cars has heated/cooled and it is one of my favourite features. I think there have been times while my wife will have her heat on while mine is set to cool.

My wifes '07 Navigator has the AC in the seats. Weird thing is that if I turn the things on max in the summer it feels like my back is getting hot and sweaty. When I feel my skin under my shirt its actually cold. Brain/nerve/back thing I guess. I personally don't like using it for that reason. I just jack the AC up so the cab stays cool and I'm good to go.

What a welcomed feature this would be in the '09 lineup! I too have fallen for this option in the IS, my wife likes to crank the heat and I sit their nice and cool. Ventilated seats are key!

This is a very luxo-like feature. I'm just not sure whether or not we'll see it in 09 (or ever for that matter) because it seems like one of those small features they'll always forget (like my MANUAL sliding rear window...) The only thing I dislike about the ventilated (cooled) seats is that they have to be perforated (because it is in fact a fan under there, you can hear it kind of whir when you turn it on). I like the clean look of non-perforated leather. But I like the added comfort of the ventilated seats...
