TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Alternative to lift kit....", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I've read quite a few threads, but I haven't really seen much on a coil over kit for the 07+. I'm looking at a non TRD 4x and I'd like to replace the shocks and perform a small leveling lift of about 3in or so.
Can anyone provide more info on this for me? Thanks!
Run a search, this forum is full of threads about coil over kits for 07's and 08's.

Thanks, I know how forums work. I obviously didn't find adequate information with the search option and understand that not everyone posts on someone else's thread.
I'm looking for new information or someone who has recently done some additional work. Someone has probably changed up their setup and not posted about it
You can do an Old Man Emu 2.5" lift for about $490 and a few hundred installed. There's a guy that posted his and it looked awesome. I'm going to go that route, instead of the Donahoe or Swaw a ways, because, even if the OME aren't as good, I don't need all the damping of the Donahoe.
With OME you can get the front shocks and the coilovers for 490. Just the front shocks are cheaper, and I'm not sure if you'll retain any lift. The system is very a la carte. Oh, and they also have a rear lift. The entire kit is just around $1100 or so.
Thanks for the info. I had looked at some of the coil over kits, but some of the company's prices are just too ridiculous. I'd design my own before paying $1400+ for some of the complete kits.
It looks I'll end up with some leveling spacers and some Tokicos or other decent name brand shock. The Tokicos on my 02 TRD Tacoma still ride like new even 80k miles later.
