Default '07 Tundra Seat Belt Problems

2007 Tundra,
LTD, Double Cab
4.7 liter
Odom. 8,000 miles

A. I'm hoping I can avoid a day at the dealer, any helpful suggestions?
Driver side seat belt is partially extracted, is locked and will not extend further or retract.

B. Passenger side belt is twisted (slot on the belt clasp is very narrow; too difficult (tight) to fold belt diagonally, and then slide clasp over the doubled belt).

This has happened to me twice on the driver side. I was driving and it locked up. I couldnt move and had to unlatch the belt. The first time this happened, I just kept jerking on it until it released. The second time I actually had to pull over. I tried for several minutes with no luck to fix it. Just when I accepted the fact that I would just have to drive without the belt, and listen to the annoying seat belt reminder, it released. This was a month ago and it hasnt happened since. When I took it in a couple of weeks ago for an oil change, they said they had never seen this before.

I am sure you tried this, but jerk on the belt hard several times in a row. It should release. Let me know how it goes.

Bret, I did exactly as you suggested and it worked. It was somewhat of a struggle as I didn't want to tug it too hard. Fact is I actually yanked at that thing several times. I started with a few tugs which didn't work. Then i wrapped the excess strap around my hands and jerked and jerked with max force (i was about to put my feet on either side of the strap for leverage). Next thing it's retracting.
Thanks a million (again)!
How did you you figure that one? You must have been pissed off to have inititialyused that amount of force.
