TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Had the Truck Dyno'd Today", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I will preface these numbers with one thing...I just finally got the vacuum leak fixed I was experiencing for the first 1800 miles I had the truck. I was constantly resetting computer, etc. So I only have 150 miles on the computer learning the mods, etc. and 2,000 miles total on truck.
Performance Mods:
DT Headers
Zoomers Exhaust
Airaid Intake
HP: 313
TQ: 319
I have a chart I'll post up later. My main goal was to check A/F to make sure nitrous was going to be safe w/o having a programmer. A/F was very rich at 10.1 to 11.2
wow, those numbers are brutally low with those mods... hmmm

I'm getting my truck dyno'd within the next two weeks. I have added a Volant CAI and a Flowmaster dual exit exhaust. I'll share my numbers so we can see how much difference the headers are making. I wouldn't imagine our different intakes and exhaust would make a tremendous difference--not trying to open a can of worms with that last comment.
Does anyone have dyno numbers with no mods?

Cool, this thread should prove to be very informative. Keep the info coming... if I get a chance next weekend, I have a buddy with a dyno that will let me do a few free runs with mine BONE stock. I'll keep you posted!

Yes, I am currently a bit disappointed..as I thought I would at least hit 325HP...I will let the engine learn the mods more, and then in February once I get the nitrous install finished, I'll head back to check fuel pressure and A/F with the nitrous running through and check the numbers then to see if there's any improvement after the computer learns the mods and the engine is more broken in.
Is your truck 2wd or 4wd? Rule of thumb is 20% loss via drivetrain so 381-74 would be 307 stock...I could see 319 from the CAI/cat back but it does seem low with the headers...not good as we have the same mods...

I wish I could say it was a Mustang...but it was a DynoJet
dont sweat it man. Dyno numbers are just that........numbers. Ive seen low hp cars rip it up at the track and beat up on higher hp cars. To many variables when talking about dynos. Take your truck to the strip and see what it does.
Careful with overheating stuff on a chassis dyno. Make sure they have huge fans on the front and allow some cool down between runs. Otherwise it will affect the numbers at the very least, and things could catch fire underneath.
Here is my before the DT headers dyno. 309 peak hp and 311 ft lbs. I had an Airaid and Zoomers when this dyno was run. I am getting the after next week.
My expectation with the DT headers is very little increase in peak HP and Torque, but an increase in lower to mid range. The second run was trying to prevent the tranny from down shifting. The runs were with Tow/Haul on and traction control off.

They use (at least the dynojet software I have had experience with) a correction factor that takes into account the temeprature in the room (which does go up usually after a few runs).
