HID Lights / DIY Paint upgrade

After looking at the HID lights on e-bay I am wondering if someone took those and did the paint mod to them as well as changing out that dim light strip on the top to a brighter light.

Any thoughts on this?

Sorry I can't post a link atm, on a government conputer right now, (yeah your tax dollars at work).
