Default Urgent! Radiator cap lost

Hi, I'm traveling from San Diego to Chicago and am in Beaver, UT right now. I just went out to check my radiator just to make sure it has anti-freeze - yeah, I didn't know just wanted to check BUT in the process since it's so damn cold the radiator cap came out of my hands and fell SOMEWHERE down in the deep dark engine/fan area. I CANNOT find it.. I checked the skidplate but not there and not enough room to reach around.

I'm wondering - is this a standard radiator cap? Can I find a replacement part at a little autoshop or parts store?

There is a Toyota 40 miles from here - but that would be not good to drive that far without a cap right? All the water would gush out everywhere. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

My truck is a 2007 5.7L Tundra with Tow Package.

Most auto parts stores will have one. They are the small caps for foriegn cars and usually have 1.1 or 0.9 stamped on one of the ears.

It's probably at the bottom of the fan shroud (the black cover that encloses the fan). I had a socket slip out of my hand and looked for it for an hour. Finally found it down there...

I'd make certain that it isn't in the bottom of the shroud since hitting a bump could cause it to bounce into therotating plastic fan. I used one of those magnets on a rod to retrieve the socket.

Hey guys thanks. I looked at NAPA and they didn't have it.. however some small parts store here had it and I was happy to pay anything for it.. the guy only charged $10 bucks.

I bet it's in that shroud too; there is just no way I can reach down there though.. I hope it doesn't bounce up too... this cap is dang small!

Thanks again for the quick replies!
