Default 07 tail gate problem & motorcycle loading

I'm planning to use the 07 Tundra to move my motorcycle around. The motorcycle is about 430 lbs or so...Can the tail gate handle the load & unload of the motorcycle without breaking? Thanks.

Should be just fine guys, I have an RC51 loaded and unloaded it quite a few times. I also own a Sears store and am constantly loading and unloading lawn tractors in the summer time and haven't had an issue yet and I know if I do have an issue Toyota will take care of it.

I can tell you the problem is right at the very corners, and really only occurs with wide, heavy ATVs. You should have no prob at all with the bikes.

I loaded/unloaded my Bandit (500ish lbs) and my father's Magna (900ish lbs) several times on our trip this past summer....no problems at all.

This is making me feel sooooo much better... Anyone ever think about maybe taking that EXTREMELY flexible access cover on the inside of the tailgate off and making a think piece of sheet metal shaped to replace it. Wouldnt be hard and might disperse the weight better. I pushed down on mine some to see how flexible it was and put a small ding in it!

Seems like a great plan.
1: remove cheap a$$ plastic "tailgate protector"
2: piece of stainless steel cut and bent to fit.

How much should this cost? 'Cause even if Toyota were to REPLACE my tailgate, my time and hassle factor with going to the dealer is worth something if I can prevent the problem in the first place.

I have a guy making one for my Dad's Taco that is having the same problems called a Gater Saver... search it at ToyotaNation.com... When I pick mine up I will be letting him look at mine. if he does in fact design something, I will be sure to let everyone know!

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

I use this Harbor Freight ramp for my dirt bike. It helps distribute the weight across the gate. I walk the bike up in 1st gear. No riding up the ramp.

Hi, I ride my bike on so me and the bike have to be over 800#s. I have very strong
good quality ramps. No issues. You may be concern if you have a load out on the tailgate while transporting.
