TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Rain X wiper blades", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Over 16000 miles on the OEM blades and out of all the vehicles I've owned, Toyota OEM blades last longer and work better than any aftermarket wiper blade.

Yes, they are available for the almighty Tundra Alittle bit of searching and you would have figured that out too. *Going back to the Tacoma section b/c a Tundra noob is unhappy *
Well with your attitude and Tacoma, go back and stay back...
If you can't handle answering a simple and innocent question, we don't need ya! LOL

Well hell since this has become a pissing contest, my wipers are still good at 34k miles but my windsheild is cracked.
I'm assuming it was a rock but damn if there wasnt a semi in sight. I'll tell you one thing though, if any of you boy's have ever had some inderect fire you'll understand when I say it took my breath away untill I realized what had happened.

Had a set of Rain-X on my wife's Highlander, and was VERY disappointed. Started streakin' shortly after installation! ...and we were livin' in Cape May NJ, where it snows maybe twice a year.
Went back to the OEMs. Dealer even put 'em on for free!

I had some PIAA blades on my civc and they worked great not a problem with MI snow ect.. don't know if they have on out for the tundra yet but i will probably get them.

You guys are getting the shaft. I picked up chevy wiperblades for $3.75 for both sides!!
Of course they break every time I turn around or need to be replaced after a month. Sometimes they even fall off but I have a couple spares in my cab for when that happens.
I prefer Bosch wiper blades, they last a very long time, the pair I had on my Honda were over three years old. They are expensive and I hate to spend the money but after the initial shock of forking out $40 on blades I am always glad that I did. Auto zone ran a special about a month ago where you could buy one get one free, so this made them very affordable and comparable to the others.

Until 3/15 Pep Boys is offering buy one, get one free (after a mail-in rebate) on Bosch Icon or Rain-X Latitude wipers. I looked at both and have taken mine off to look at the fitting and I can't figure out how either would be installed on the new Tundras. I figured at $20 for both I'd buy and hang onto them until I really needed them since my originals still do a good job. I called my dealer today and after using the dreaded "S" word (special) told me they're $65 for the Toyota brand and that he didn't think that an aftermarket alternative was available yet.
Can anyone who has used either of these brands tell me how you installed them? Thanks.

I've always hads excellent experience with Bosch wipers. Takes 5 seconds to install 'em and discard the old ones. They work well over their recommended time period.
Granted, I'm a bit sour about spending that much for wiper blades as I just bought two Boschs for about just around $30 for both of 'em after tax for the 4runner. The Tundra's are going to take a huge dent in the pocket. I think I'll be having them replaced under warranty haha. (Never actually done it but heard it's possible from someone here on the website).

Yup cant go wrong with Bosch. They are expensive but there good. Im going to keep my factory ones until they start messing up. ill prob get the toyota brand ones again b./c I think you can just get the wiper inserts for like 5-10bucks each. Im not sure though. Anyone know for certain?

Anyone know where the OEM wipers are actually sourced from (the company) or is it made by Toyota, since alot of our trucks are souced from U.S. parts it had me wondering if they were made by some other company for Toyota.

Bosch Icon - once you try a set, you will not buy anything else!
How are they installed on our trucks?

My blades are 378 days old and have 52,120 miles on them and still work perfect! I have abused them with ice and mud. I will definitely by from Toyota when these are worn out.
... as a matter of fact, the ONLY parts serviced on this truck has been 7 oil filters and one set of tires.
