TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Rain X wiper blades", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I just got done ordering a set of Rain X wiper blades from their web site. Price before shipping is $41.00 for the set of 2. The order defaulted to a 22" and a 24" blade for the Tundra. They are not cheap, but a little less expensive than OEM wiper blades.
THe Rain X wipers I had were great for about 2 weeks and then they just streaked up my windshield. Have yet to find a wiper that works well.
Tom
I've always hads excellent experience with Bosch wipers. Takes 5 seconds to install 'em and discard the old ones. They work well over their recommended time period.
Granted, I'm a bit sour about spending that much for wiper blades as I just bought two Boschs for about just around $30 for both of 'em after tax for the 4runner. The Tundra's are going to take a huge dent in the pocket. I think I'll be having them replaced under warranty haha. (Never actually done it but heard it's possible from someone here on the website).
Yes, they are available for the almighty Tundra Alittle bit of searching and you would have figured that out too. *Going back to the Tacoma section b/c a Tundra noob is unhappy *
I'm not sure who is unhappy! Its not me. I was just passing on the news that the new wiper blades are available for the Tundra. I have about 9000 miles on mine as well. They survived the winter storm in California and Oregon the first week of the year.
Living in a ski resort, I'm asking quite a bit of my wiper blades. The traditional winter blades with the rubber-covered superstructure is great for keeping the blade from being clogged with ice, but seems a bit crazy for this truck.
I'm 2100 miles into a skiing road trip that has gone through snow in Nevada, Idaho, Montana, and Washington, and thus far these are my feelings on the wipers.
I'm currently using a Napa Auto Neo-Form set of blades, and am OK with them, except when moving at 60 mph+ speeds. The driver's side blade seems to skip right at eye height, leaving a couple of missed areas. I wonder if it has to do with wind picking up the, either from the contour from the back of the blade of the spring strength of the wiper arm.
Otherwise, the Napa blades are OK- no better than stock.
Now about the blade heating element- not sure if it really works, but more on that later.
