Good question. Cost maybe? Less durable?? I dunno, but living up here with all the snow I wish it did.

Re: Truck Trend truck comparisons
No kidding I have a 99 Limited 4-Runner with the AWD feature if I want to use it and I love it--
I cannot believe they leave that for the Seq and leave the tundra out--If you look the Chevy/Dodge all have an AWD mode or Auto

Re: Truck Trend truck comparisons
Only the Denali and I think some Avalanches you can get AWD. I not aware of any Dodge trucks having AWD. And only Ford's Harley Davidson version had AWD.

Re: Truck Trend truck comparisons
After doing some quick GM research, it appears the GM's have autotrack. When selected you are in 2wd unless the truck detects slippage , then it goes to 4wd. The top of the line Denali appears to be the only one with true AWD and it's full time.

Where did you find that listed? I went to the dodge site and all I can find for 4wd trucks is part time only.

Our 4Runner has fulltime 4WD, really nice in the winter. That black ice can sneak up on you when you least expect it.

You are correct. I test drove the new Chevy Silverado and it has "auto, 4hi,4lo. The auto is just like the SUV's, you put in auto and it doesn't matter if you're driving on dry pavement it only kicks in when you need it. It is a nice feature to have when you're on roads that are snow covered then bare then snow covered, but all things considered I'd still stick with the Tundra.

According to what I read, they had a F250 V10 gasser and a F450 dually Powerstroke, Sierra 2500 Duramax and 3500 Duramax, and Silverado 2500 w/6.0 gasser and 3500 Duramax.

Re: Truck Trend truck comparisons
I just noticed, in the performance charts they've swapped the unloaded and loaded 1/4 mile speed values.
Also, what's up with the price per pound figues? Can there be any measurement more useless than that in evaluating trucks?
