TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2007 and later Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "DIY: OEM Foglight Install", within the Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Wow...you are the man. Wanna come put mine in>? I sure as hell won't but I do admire you.
Holy hell you live in the sticks! I'm originally from Holly, MI and make it there quite regularly, so if you'd be willing to drive a little bit, I'd do it for free (as I'm doing with the 2 installs in KCMO).

First I am NOT a mechanically experienced person. I can build a computer from parts, setup a computer network, write code... but doing Mechanical work is rarely something I do. When I was at the dealer buying the Tundra (upgrading my 05 tundra) I noticed no Fog blanks and said... BAH how expensive can it be to do aftermarket... no biggie right............ Well the parts alone are a rip off so I had to reduce cost and do this myself. Parts purchased from TRD Sparks kit... (TRDSparks ... thanks for no housing pushpins to secure the fog housing to the truck btw... However, I can say all the parts did come in Perfect Working Order - I purchased bumper brackets for 2$ to secure them)
You put a fair effort into the walk through and I used it to install my OEM Fogs in 07 DC SR5 Tundra. For any one of you that posted you would not attempt this I simply say BAH to you. MHadden's write up is very thorough. I spent about 4 hours doing the entire project (keep in mind my wife mentioned she was glad we had other vehicles in the driveway when I started) I can honestly say... YOU CAN DO IT (hell if I can, your grandma can)
Anyhow to end this reply...
MHADDEN THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR EFFORT AND GOOD NATURE TO SHARE THE INSTALLATION STEPS REQUIRED. YOU ARE THE MAN!
Next projects... Upgrade the audio system, install a tonneau.
Getting ready to order my kit...One question: the push pins aren't in the kit, does anyone have a part number for those? I think I found them on Sparks' site, but want to make sure. Thanks for the write-up, this should be fun.
there ya go..............that is for the chrome bumper, look down on the left side of the page at the bottom for the resin/painted bumper kit

well, that never happened, mhadden had done this write up on another site that he kindly donated to the cause, so we didn't have to get someone else to do the same thing.

I did mine today just waiting on a set of Blinglights to arrive so I just did the stalk and the relay.
I always find it easier to loosen the nut on a steering wheel and leave it on the end of the last few threads then loosen the steering wheel especially if you have to use any force (I discovered this years ago after smacking myself in the mouth when a wheel came loose all of a sudden)
I also found it easier to remove the wiper stalk while still held on the column.
Thanks for a superb write-up made the job go a whole lot quicker for me
